From Emperor Claudius to Jesus of Nazareth.
Historical reenactments are a fascinating world. They allow you to capture in a single frame a moment that happened centuries... millennia ago. They allow you to recreate a historical or religious moment or revisit a work of art. I love this photographic genre.
A photographic genre in which the shot is certainly only one aspect among the thousands that must be anticipated and planned.
It is a team effort and certainly requires harmony.
Between faith and history was born on a cold winter evening back at the end of 2012.
Together with friends Vincenzo Ricciarello and Massimo De Clementi, long-time historical reenactors, we came up with the idea for a photographic project on the occasion of the following year's Natale di Roma.
DCCC ab Urbe Condita, that is, 8 centuries since the founding of Rome, when Emperor Claudius introduced for the first time the celebrations for this event.
Over the years, the photographic works Via Crucis - The Way of Suffering (the passion, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ) Mt. 9,9-13 (the Calling of Matthew) and finally ADZERO (Anno Domini Zero) have been added.
It was precisely during the photo session of ADZERO, set in the wonderful and evocative settings of Calcata, that the idea was born to create an exhibition that would be the synthesis of the journey taken over these years.
A way to set a milestone together with all those who have made it possible to materialize ideas over 10 years.
Within the exhibition there will also be a tribute to the Municipality of Calcata and its most illustrious figures such as Maestro Prof. Paolo Portoghesi.
A photographic project on the reality of dance in Calcata set right in the Portoghesi garden.
We look forward to seeing you.
